Tea Master – Mr. Xiao Shiying
A lifelong devotion and love for tea, Mr. Xiao Shiying dedicated his entire life to develop and create the most perfect pu-erh tea from a young and energetic young man to a beloved elder with salt and pepper hair. Mr. Xiao Shiying invented the technique of Yunnan big tea tree variety clonal propagation, developed innovative ecological tea plantation, invented mass seeding method, and is also the leading pioneer in promoting natural tea plantation methods. For tea farmers, Mr. Xiao Shiying is a living legend and a knowledgeable elder and for tea drinkers he is a representation of tea culture and authenticity, in such Mr. Xiao Shiying is also known as the “Father of asexual tea tree of Yunnan”.
Year 1957 – Mr. Xiao Shiying after numerous trials successfully invented “Old Large Leaf Variety Tea Tree plant propagation” technique.
Year 1960 – The first person to conduct trimming experiment on Old large leaf variety tea trees, after years of experiment concluded a trimming methodology and theory.
Year 1970 – Mr. Xiao Shiying was named the “Father of asexual tea tree of Yunnan”
Year 1987 – Mr. Xiao Shiying was hired as expert level tea researcher into China’s Puerh Research Center. Afterwards Mr. Xiao Shiying and his wife Mrs. Zhang Mulan spent countless effort and dedication finally developed and nurtured 5 new large leaf verity old tea tree Yungui, Aifeng, Yunmei, Duanjie Baihao, and Xueya. Mr. Xiao Shiying also contributed in promoting and improving agriculture methods and dedicated his life to create and carry forward the Chinese Puerh tea culture.
Year 1992 – Mr. Xiao Shiying was the first to suggest and prove that Bang Wei big tea tree is a transition type tea tree between wild and farmed tea trees.
Year 1996 – Retired from China’s Puerh Research Center and created Three-dimensional ecological Tea Plantation
Year 2007 - Mr. Xiao Shiying was awarded and elected as one of the world’s top ten outstanding people in Puerh tea expertise
Year 2008 – Three-dimensional ecological Tea Plantation was recognized and approved by the Chinese government.
